Leap Chair
Steelcase’s Leap chair is the result of several years of research incorporating nearly 30 scientists and more than 10 studies. The aim of the research was to find out exactly how people seat. All this hard work paid off with the resulting revolutionary Leap chair. It is quite true to say that this is one of the best office chairs there is today.
The Leap chair incorporates very advanced technology. One very striking feature is what is referred to as the LiveBack technology. This technology allows the back of the chair to alter its shape in response to your back contours ensuring that your entire spine is completely supported. The technology allows the separate adjustment of the upper back rest and lower back rest, exactly copying how you sit in the chair. The adjustability of the seat means it can be used by anyone irrespective of height.
Another awesome feature of the Leap chair is the natural glide system. When you recline, the seat moves forward so that you do not lose sight of whatever you are working on. This in itself encourages you to shift position regularly which is good for your posture. The gliding motion of the seat means no added pressure is placed on your legs and feet as you recline. The Leap chair also comes with an adjustable seat depth so it can accommodate different bodies. The seat edge is also flexible so that no undue pressure is placed on the back of your legs as you recline or lean forward. There however exists no possibility of sliding of the chair.
The Leap chair is made with inbuilt thermal comfort. This is as a result of the cleverly inserted slats in the seat and the back of the chair. Together with high quality foam padding, they ensure that the chair allows easy flow of air and breathability.
