I recently had the pleasure to test drive one of Herman Miller’s newer designs called the Embody Office Chair and I was not disappointed.
Herman Miller say they set out to build the perfect office chair that provides ample back support necessary to maintain good posture and invested 6 years of serious scientific research and development before finally launching the Embody Chair in 2009. Patterned after the Aeron office chair and aimed at providing workaholics a better working companion, this chair features a comfortable 4-layer seat cushion made of 93 interconnected pixels that adjust to the size, shape and spinal curve of the person sitting on it. It also has several levers and knobs that enable you to change the depth, height, arm and tilt tension of the chair giving you support and ultimate flexibility at the same time. Whether you are reclined, tilted to the side or leaning forward towards your computer, the Embody Chair allows for supported movement in all work positions. This improves blood circulation, decreases heart rate, corrects posture and lessens body pain and fatigue. This chair is absolutely perfect for the 24/7 worker or for employees with back and neck problems.
Designed by the late Bill Stumpf together with Jeff Weber, the Embody Chair is made from 42% recycled materials. It is free of plastic and has Greenguard certification. It is very environment-friendly and is 95% recyclable.
Available in thirteen different colors and three finishes, the Embody Office Chair has a recommended retail price of $1,495 and is available online or in your favorite furniture stores.
